about

Written in a garage Coyote was sleeping in when his homeless journey began in 2012. This song tells the story of how this happened. The 2012 year was so miserable that Coyote refused to write any other songs except, "High School Graduation Reunion," written for his high school reunion that year for Patrick Henry High, San Diego.

from the album: END OF THE LINE by American Zen

by Richard Del Connor, The Hippy Coyote

verse intro: A - C# - G - B (rock'n'roll blues)

A_____________C#____________G_____B
Moved to Vegas to drum for the lion dance

A______C#_________G______B
Left California to end a 20-year romance

A_________C#_______________G____B
But at the end of the Chinese New Year

A________________C#___________________F#
They were done using me and said, "Move out of here"

A_______________C#___________G_____B
So I was stuck in Vegas without a job or a friend

A_________C#____________________G____B
Homeless, living in the backyard of a freemason

A__________C#__________________G__B
He put me to work laying concrete and cleaning

A___________C#__________________________F#
But after only a month he said, "It's time you were leaving"

A_____E________________F#m____B
Use me -- for something you need

A_____E______________F#m____B
Use me -- for a place I can sleep

A_____E_________________F#m
Use me -- I need something to eat

C________D____E
I'll work for real cheap

A_____________C#_________________G_____B
So as I write this song I've got nowhere to go

A____________C#_______________G_____B
I'm looking for a job, I'm looking for a home

A________C#___________G_______B
This is the scariest year that I've ever known

A__________C#___________________F#
Waiting for a paycheck to see where I'm goin'

A_____E________________F#m____B
Use me -- for something you need

A_____E______________F#m____B
Use me -- for a place I can sleep

A_____E_________________F#m
Use me -- I need something to eat

C________D____E
I'll work for real cheap

C________D____E
I'll work for real cheap
