about

Coyote imagined himself singing this song to his bride, in the church, at the altar, for his wedding. Coyote sings the bride vocal in this recording. This old-fashioned traditional wedding vow is an unrequited dream of our now Confucian hippie Zen pup.

lyrics

July 29, 2013 after hearing daughter complain of her relationship...

GUY:
A_____________F#m
Standing at the altar
A_________F#m____D____E____A
I will never falter - - to love and protect
A___________F#m
Cherish you is easy
A_____________________F#m_______D____E_____A
All I need is your smile to please me -- cherish and respect

GIRL:
A____________F#m
You are my only lover
A______________F#m_______D____E_____A
Together we'll discover -- your castle we'll erect
A_____________F#m
Our family is our life
A___________________F#m______D_________E________A
Husband father mother wife -- our futures will never disconnect

GUY & GIRL:
A____________________F#m
Honor -- Cherish -- I love you
A_______________________F#m_______D__________E_______A
Obey -- Protect -- is what we do -- Our success will always be true
A______________________F#m
I may be rich -- You may be poor
A______________________________F#m_____D________________E______A
I may have an itch -- I will scratch and adore -- Friendship we can always expect
A____________________________F#m
Honor and obey -- Cherish and protect
A_____________________________F#m__D_E__A
Honor and obey -- Cherish and protect -- I love you
